Last July 2-4, Computer Manufaturers Distributors and Dealers Association of the Philippines (COMDDAP) staged their annual event this year at Apo View Hotel. There were IT exhibits, Technology Update Seminars, etc. Me and my classmates went their last July 2 to see their exhibits and to join their Technology Update Seminars.
The first seminar we attended was about ERIC DMS (Dealer Management System). The ERIC Dealer Management System is an end-to-end software for automotive sales parts, and service businesses. It covers full range of dealer activities from Customer prospecting and vehicle services. It also has many features and services need for car dealers. It was from Jupiter Systems, Inc. I think the system can really help the dealers in their needs.
The second seminar was about the HP Thin Client. It is one of the leading thin clients. It has also many features and I have learned that some of the advantages of the product is that it saves a lot more energy and power consumption than ordinary desktops and it is not prone to viruses because when a virus attacks the system, you just have to restart it and the virus is gone. Isn’t that amazing?
Next was about the Microsoft Retail Management System. The product is intended to address the needs of businessmen in keeping track of their products and sales. This can help any businessmen in tracking easily and efficiently.
The last seminar was all about Open Source for Business Applications. The speaker tackled what open source, the open source softwares and the open source for business applications. That was my favorite seminar that afternoon because I am also interested in Open Source Softwares and their impact in Business Applications.
From that seminar, I have learned that technology really is growing and is really needed in any businesses in order for them to become more productive and more competitive.
